1st october 2009:
happy three and a half years N!time just flies with a kid around!with each passing day i realise what a treasure i have at hand...inspite of all the hiccups a parent has to endure through this amazing journey with a child...it's all worth it!
KJ and N...the other day he told me that it was just a tiff(and that's why he said Ebony was his new babe)...KJ is his forever girl!
the other day,N bought this bike with his pocket money(oh yes, that has started!)...later in the day we had this convo:
N:"my girl and i will ride this bike"
Me:"who?"
N:"my girl KJ will sit here(the pillion seat) and i'll sit here(the rider's seat)"
Me:"last week you said Ebony is your girl"
N:"no...it's KJ"
Me:"where will you go?"
N:"to the market"
Me:"what will you buy?"
N:"i'll buy toys for KJ because she doesn't have many toys"
every wednesday we get together with other indian kids and do some fun activity(sometimes it's serious studying coupled with play)...to end the activity all the kids take turns to sing songs or recite poems etc...N usually tends to shy away when it's his turn to sing in the group but of late he's been opening up a bit!he's been going up to sing/recite...and yesterday his voice was kind of heard!he says he'll be louder next time around!
yummy kimbap making session at school....that's N's BFF Junu
the other day i got a big shock in the morning...N called out to me "ya sekkiya!" with a big grin on his face...sekkiya is a korean slang word which literally translates to "son of a bitch" but it's not really easy to translate this particular word in exact terms as it can mean so much more depending on the context!
anyways i asked him where he heard that word(without displaying any signs of amazement or anger)...and he said that some of his friends at school use it to call each other...oh well, this is bound to happen...i'm just wondering if it's happening a little too soon!
red balloon
20th September 2009:
N's physical ed teacher gave him a red helium balloon last friday and we played with it for the entire evening after he got back from school!it amazes me how little it takes to make a child happy...unlike the complex nature of adult life, childhood is so anxiety-free...
oh well...N does have his short bouts of anxiety(on two nights he's cried himself to sleep coz K,his usual bedtime story teller was late from work!)...and he sounded so mature that time...he said,"deta has a lot of work so he is late...but i do not like him coming late..."
he's all forgiving the day after! and then it takes one red balloon to make him forget it all:)
