red balloon

20th September 2009:

N's physical ed teacher gave him a red helium balloon last friday and we played with it for the entire evening after he got back from school!it amazes me how little it takes to make a child happy...unlike the complex nature of adult life,childhood is so anxiety-free...

oh well...N does have his short bouts of anxiety(on two nights he's cried himself to sleep coz K,his usual bedtime story teller was late from work!)...and he sounded so mature that time...he said,"deta has a lot of work so he is late...but i do not like him coming late..."

he's all forgiving the day after! and then it takes one red balloon to make him forget it all:)

school news

17th September 2009:

recent happenings at N's school...

lego hour at school...about a week ago N became so engrossed in building blocks that he'd be forever buried in creating ( and i must add he would come up with creative stuff!) all kinds of things...oh well,mainly action heroes!

the other day N confessed to me that KJ is not his girl anymore, she's into jimin now and......N's new babe is ebony(the one in the red t-shirt!)

14th September 2009:

last part of my muju mojo musings...

enjoying the otherwise forbidden carbonated orange drink!

much to my chagrin...N picked one and instead of keeping it(he did remark that it's pretty!)...he simply crushed it to pieces!

the mountains are lovely...bright and pink!

this time around...after a thorough explanation of how it's totally unreasonable to buy toys every day,N understood and did not make a fuss!he did not buy anything!he just told K,"deta,go to your workplace and work hard and earn money!"...so that we have enough money for him to buy toys(i guess!)

and i love my kimchi chigae!this was something called chatae kimchi chigae....super hot!

we drove by the countryside...saw lots of apple farms,grape farms,peach plants and rows and rows of red chillies!

on our way to muju we witnessed a number of accidents,on the way back to suwon too there were a few we saw...police patrol cars and tow trucks were conveniently stationed after every few kilometers....a very anticipated occurence...accidents!

traffic jams happen quite often...especially on weekends and public holidays...people come prepared for this and it's not chaotic at all if you compare it to the chaos that happens in india!

muju mojo musings...continued...

N wanted to enjoy the noraebang experience...he thought it was just another eating joint...when K said,"not here",he was like,"what about food?why can't we eat here?"

the resort we stayed in has a carnival street which is the happening spot....shops,pubs,karaoke rooms,restaurants and more...

mom speaks and son listens?! rare occasion :)

handmade wooden what-nots...to buy or not to buy!!!

"mama cooks yummy food!" best compliment ever!

a weekend getaway isn't complete without a few beverages!don't worry folks!niyor is getting his fair share of milk!

13th September 2009:

for those who want to know...muju is a county in the south korean province of north jeolla(jeollabuk-do)

it has a mountainous climate in which temperature is drastically different in the day and at night

deokyu mountain(one of the twelve most beautiful mountains in korea) is located in muju

beautiful subjects for photography all around the resort area which is a huge sprawling ground replete with all kinds of entertainment for people of all ages

we went on a stroll through the area...N did not want to walk so he said,"please push me around!"

the carnival street has cute shops that are totally photogenic!

all terrain vehicles...N said he'd ride one..."tomorrow mama...i'm cold today"!

pondering on what to munch next!

we had joy...we had fun...some old forgotten song playing in my head!

muju mojo 1

13th September 2009:

just got back from a marvellous weekend in muju...here's reliving the muju mojo through these photographic musings...

the heavy downpour didn't dampen our spirits...we set out of home with two options,either we head to jirisan which is 260 km away or to chuncheon which is closer...we ended up going to neither of the two!

stopping over for lunch at a service area...N chose shrimp fried rice which we shared while K munched on domino's pizza...

the sun peaked in and stayed over the rest of the day...

about halfway into the trip(by which time we were headed for jirisan national park) N started grumbling,"I don't want to go to jirisan...I don't want to go to chuncheon...I want to go home, to my bed!"....

and after a while K and I suddenly...on a whim,decided to ditch jirisan and head to muju which happened to be just another 40 odd kilometers away...we changed the navigation info at a service area where N bought yet another power ranger(i realise this buying needs serious intervention!)...the power ranger totally lifted N's spirits so high that he was like,"muju?! wow! i want to go there!"...as though he had any idea about what muju was!!!
